Early Music Program “Breakfast with Grace”
For the first time, three brilliant and internationally experienced soloists—sopranos Terēze Gretere, Ilze Grēvele-Skaraine, and Nora Kalniņa—have come together, joined by harpsichordist Gertrūda Krauksta (Jerjomenko). Their focus here is on works intended for three, two, and one voice, rooted in the Italian musical heritage of the 16th and 17th centuries. Such a lineup is a rarity in Latvia’s concert scene, which is why the magnificent repertoire brought to life by these clear, melodious voices may be a delightful new discovery for most listeners. Thematically, the artists will bring passionate love to life and tell stories of inspiring nature, offering a glimpse into eyes marked by the pain of love and an opportunity to listen to vivid inner monologues of women, while inviting the audience to explore the mysterious world of mythology.
