On 10 October, Valmiera will host the traditional Simjūds Market, which this year celebrates a special anniversary – 30 years since the market was revived. From 10:00 to 16:00, Rīgas Street and Vecpuišu Park will come alive with craftsmen and home producers from near and far across Latvia, offering an abundance of autumn produce, delicious homemade treats, local products and a wide variety of handcrafted goods.
Simjūds Market is one of Vidzeme’s oldest and most significant autumn fairs, traditionally marking the end of the active farming season and delighting visitors with a rich, diverse and colourful selection of autumn goods. To celebrate its 30th anniversary, this year’s market will invite visitors to discover traditional market customs, enjoy the abundance of the autumn harvest and meet the talented craftsmen and home producers from across Latvia.
