Abava Valley

The 3.5 km long circular route is suitable for an autumn walk, crossing two bridges – the arched bridge and the new pedestrian bridge – allowing you to enjoy the wonderful views from both banks of the River Ogre.
From the Daugava promenade in Ogre and the new pier, on which an outdoor object in the form of three modern youths is located, you can see very expressive autumn landscapes across the Daugava. Especially beautiful are the views during sunset. The promenade and its extension are convenient for walkers, cyclists, Nordic walkers, and roller skaters.

Enjoy golden autumn walks in Rauna! A Health Trail (Veselības taka) has been created along the right and left banks of the River Rauna. On this approximately 2 km long trail, you can enjoy the diversity of nature and history throughout the seasons. The white sandstone outcrops that are illuminated at dusk, the rocky bed of the River Rauna and the industrial heritage alternate with the Castle Mound Tanīss, the mysterious Devil’s Cave and the corners of untouched nature.
You can also visit Rauna Park and see the remains of the medieval castle of Rauna and the watchtower. Rauna is a great place to enjoy nature, clear your mind or simply go on a leisurely autumn walk!
