Sand Sculpture park
On the Pasta sala in Jelgava, from June 20 to October 1, you can visit the Sand Sculpture Park. With a different concept than before in Jelgava, on Pasta sala, this year a Sand Sculpture Park has been created.
The theme of the Sand Sculpture Park is dedicated to the city of Jelgava on its 755th birthday. The artistic concept of the park was created by the sculptor Kārlis Īle, the sand sculptures were created by titled artists from all over Latvia.
This year the theme of sculptures is only about and around Jelgava. The ancient Semigallian settlements, Duke Jēkabs himself, and the so-popular Latvian group "Brainstorm" will open the eyes of visitors.
In addition to viewing the sculptures in the territory of the park, information boards will be displayed, which will tell about the 755-year history and events of the city of Jelgava.
The Sand Sculpture Park will be open to visitors from June 20 every day from 10:00 to 20:00.
Entrance fee to the sculpture park for adults 2.00 EUR, for pupils, students, pensioners and people with disabilities 1.00 EUR, for children under 7 years of age free entrance.
