Bridge to nowhere

A bridge that has no access roads? Yes, indeed, such a bridge exists! The Bridge to Nowhere is reminiscent of the once planned construction of the Tukums – Kuldīga narrow-gauge railway, which was started in the late 1930s. The construction of the railway was interrupted by World War II, but the bridge that was built has remained in the middle of the meadow, not demolished, to this day. In 2008, the Bridge to Nowhere was included in the European Cultural Heritage List “Unusual Cultural Heritage”.
